Description

SHIFT+ARROW

Select the cell(s) in that direction - left, top, right, up, down

CTRL+SHIFT+ARROW

Select to the last occupied cell in that direction

CTRL+SHIFT+END

Select from active cell to last occupied cell that is down and to the right

CTRL+SHIFT+HOME

Select from active cell to first occupied cell that is up and to the left

CTRL+SHIFT+PAGE DOWN

Selects the current and next sheet in a workbook

CTRL+SHIFT+PAGE UP

Selects the current and previous sheet in a workbook

CTRL+SHIFT+*

Selects the current region around the active cell - the data area enclosed by blank rows and blank columns.

 

In a Pivot table, it selects the entire PivotTable report.

SHIFT+BACKSPACE

Collapse cell selection to just active cell

CTRL+A

Select all of the occupied cells in current range, press again for selection of all cell in a worksheet, does not select blanks

ALT+;

Select visible cells only - used when copying collapsed outline levels

CTRL+SPACE BAR

Select all cells in current column

SHIFT+SPACE BAR

Select all cells in current row

CTRL+SHIFT+SPACE BAR

Selects the entire worksheet

 

1. If the worksheet contains data, this selects the current region. In this case, pressing the shortcut for the second time selects the current region and its summary rows. Pressing the shortcut for the third time selects the entire sheet.

 

2. When an object is selected, it selects all objects on a worksheet.

Select all cells of the current array formula

CTRL+SHIFT+O

Select all cells with comments

Select cells directly referenced by formulas in the selection

Enables you to add a nonadjacent cell or range to a selection of cells by using the arrow keys

 

Copy, Cut, Paste, Insert and Delete Cells

Copy selection to clipboard

Cut selection to clipboard

Paste last selection that was cut or copied to clipboard

CTRL+ALT+V

Displays the Paste Special dialog box

DEL

Clear contents of the current selection - leaves formatting intact

CTRL+(PLUS)

Open Insert Cells Dialog

CTRL+(MINUS)

Open Delete Cells Dialog Box

Copy contents of cell above into active cell - formulas are exact copy!

CTRL+SHIFT+"

Copy the value from the cell above the active cell into the cell or the formula bar

CTRL+D

Copy contents of the cell above into active cell

CTRL+R

Copy contents of cell to the left into active cell

SHIFT+F10

Open context menu, navigate up and down then hit to make a selection

CTRL+DEL

To delete to end of word
